Montreal-based artist Florence Yee often questions the concept of identity and the belonging in the here and now in her practice. Her range of work frequently mutates from medium to medium, and from abstraction to hyperrealism. Yee's preference for oil painting, however, allows her the creative flexibility to play with people's perceptions of reality and expectations. In this episode of the Rubicon video series, BFA Concordia University student and artist Florence Yee shares insights on her art and discusses the idea of using hyperrealism as a subject matter in her pieces.
